The PCC is allowing us to do this in ways we were unable to before."

“I firmly believe that libraries are embracing new technologies daily. Access to these technologies is imperative. However, access is just part of the issue at hand. Users need to learn the skills that are necessary to use these technologies effectively. The PCC is the perfect place to come to that ensures these goals are met.”

Computer Tutor/Reference Librarian
Jared graduated from St. Bonaventure University with his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology in 2007. Since that time he has attained a Master’s in Library and Information Science (from Syracuse University, in 2009) and a Master’s in Social Work degree from the University at Buffalo (May 2012).
“The PCC is an excellent resource for many different populations. Given the state of our economy and the unemployment or underemployment of many persons (especially in the Cattaraugus/Chautauqua area) the PCC offers resources that can greatly assist individuals in attaining important job-related skills. Specifically, as a social work student I have had the opportunity to experience firsthand the positive effects that skills training programs can have for traditionally under served populations. Hence, the free resources offered by the PCC are an excellent means of outreach for the Olean Public Library.”
